Advantage Database Server is a high performance embedded client/server data management system that provides both ISAM table-based and SQL-based data access, enabling application developers to chart a growth path for legacy database applications.

Advantage Database Server 9’s updated features include support for Visual FoxPro 9, performance boosts for large transactions, reduced end user configuration requirements and the addition of key functionality including an SQL Debugger and 64 bit Platform Support.

“The enhancements and updates in Advantage Database Server 9 have allowed us to further enhance the product’s usability, resulting in greater developer productivity,” said Dave Neudoerffer, vice president, engineering. “These latest Advantage updates are driven by significant customer and partner interest - in particular, the unique support for Visual FoxPro.”

Advantage 9 will support the Visual FoxPro 9 file format. Performance Enhancements include: 64-bit Windows and Linux servers, SQL engine and filter performance enhancements, SQL debugger, dynamic server configuration, event notifications, new default user groups (i.e., admin, public and debug backup), TDataSet descendant version management utility and enhanced replication functionality.
